Monster.com, the career portal is back in the 43rd Super Bowl commercial after four long years. In 2004, the ad price was approximately $2 million for 30 a second spot, this year, despite an economic slowdown, Monster will be paying around $3 million for a half minute spot.

It’s imperative to note that when there are approximately 11.1 million unemployed people in America and when the unemployment rate is touching a 16 year high, Monster strives to go all out with its appeal to the jobseekers.

As per Monster Worldwide, the parent company of the group has decided to uses a dash of humor in the commercial. The advertising and publicity wing of Monster group believes that even in cheerless economy people want humor.

In one television commercial, a construction worker is shown tense (in a close up shot), clings to a beam; he was crying and whimpering and shivering. In the next shot, which was a long one, the camera pans up to show that the worker is only a few feet off the ground.

In another TV commercial, a crew of emergency medical technicians jumps out of an ambulance as heroic music plays. They run to a car accident — and an E.M.T. faints, reports NYT

“Are you in the right job?” the ads ask.

CareerBuilder commercial for 43rd Super Bowl is out. It’s a 60 second ad and I would say I am not very much impressed with the advertising. Well, some of my friends however just LOVED the ad, they are calling it fantastic. Whatever. Is it million dollars’ worth to show a koala bear and a co-worker in a Speedo depicting surefire signals that it’s time to start building a better work situation and go to CareerBuilder.com today? I am not sure. May be strategically, yes.

The ad has been prepared by Independent Wieden & Kennedy

As per John Baratta, president of the client’s consumer replacement tire sales operations in the U.S. and Canada, “When it comes to getting your message out there, no advertising opportunity compares to the reach and impact of the Super Bowl. This 43rd Super Bowl, Hyundai plans to go all out with its Genesis Coupe commercial. The Korean automaker will launch the Hyundai ad for 2009 during the Super Bowl in a sideways, two-part “Epic Lap” advertisement. To accomplish the shoot the automaker has got hot-shoe, truck almost flipping, former rallyist Rhys Millen on board to flog the RWD coupe around Road Atlanta’s 2.54-mile, 12-turn circuit.

Rhys Millen while speaking to media persons said, “We’re taking this car in a controlled environment to the max, hitting speeds of a 125 mph, braking deep, firing in, popping over the rumble strips, it’s awesome, a great feeling.” Link

Adding a dramatic effect to one of the One of the “Epic” commercials to achieve a dramatic feat will be a solo of Bach’s “Cello Suite #3 in C, Gigue” by Grammy-winning cellist Yo-Yo Ma. It has been superiorly choreographed to Millen’s controlled mayhem behind the wheel. Hyundai is strategizing a web effort where surfers will be able to edit together snippets from the shoot and create an “Epic Lap” of their own.

The final commercial wont be released before February 1, I have tried hard to lay my hands on it, but in vain. However, behind the scenes are released, and believe me its no bad. Its definitely worth a look and surely you will get to see more than the comely yellow Hyundai. Watch closely and you will discover a pair of killer blacked-out camera cars: A Porsche Cayenne and a Mitsubishi Evo. at Wiki
