Gymnast from Canada Alexandra Orlando is getting ready to some blogging as wellAlexandra-Orlando-blog-picture-photo-image

The sensuous rhythmic gymnast from Canada Alexandra Orlando will be blogging during the Olympic Games. Well if you think the blog has been created just for itsy bitsy ranting then you are mistaken.

She will write in couple of blogs. I don’t know whether she herself will write the entries, the way I do..hehe..or some professional writer will do the ghost writing for her.

Both the blogs are part of marketing and advertising campaigns from Lenovo and CBC. Lenovo, the Chinese giant has asked athletes from around the world to do blogging for them. You may get a look at it at www.summergames.lenovo.com. But Alexandra will also do blogging for Lenovo at www.alexandra-orlando.blogspot.com.

She will also do blogging for CBC.

What better way to turn otherwise busy minds to your product by letting celeb sport stars go all dare bare and naked. Come Beijing Olympics 2008, and not one but three British athletes will make a promotional appearance  in birthday suit for the sports drink, Powerade, a Coca Cola brand. Rower turned cyclist Rebecca Romero, Triple jumper Phillips Idowu and Swimmer Gregor Tait have all taken part for the energy drink’s China Olympics exclusive advertisement campaign.
Cathryn Sleight, marketing director for Coca-Cola Great Britain said,

Everyone is used to seeing athletes in competition or winning, but we wanted to give people the chance to see the real make-up of an athlete and their muscle and power.

“This is definitely one of the more unusual shoots I’ve taken part in, but also one of the most enjoyable,” The Telegraph quoted Idowu as saying, “The inner gear for an athlete – how we train, what we eat, drink and when we sleep – is as important as what we wear.”

Quite a paradox. More than one billion Indians can hardly expect a medal from Beijing Olympics 2008, but on the advertising forum it has already created some great scores by creating Lenovo’s China Olympics commercial.

Chinese PC maker and the Beijing Olympics sponsor Lenovo has aired this Lenovo Olympics special advert during the telecast of the Games’ opening ceremony across the world—in China, the US, India and other places.

The ad has been created by the Bangalore branch of advertising agency Ogilvy and Mather Ltd (O&M).

Adidas has kicked off an international TV and press campaign “Adidas Countdown.” The ad is Adidias’ is homage to support its sponsorship of the 2008 Beijing Olympics games.

The TV campaign, appropriately called Countdown, has feature thousands of Chinese mimicking the warm-up movements of some of the nation’s Olympic hopefuls as they prepare to compete.

Adidas’ local sponsorship of the Beijing Olympic Games, thought to be worth about $80m (£41m), and its ad campaign appear to be paying dividends.

The German sportswear company, which also owns the Reebok brand, today credited China as a “big contributor” to the growth the company has seen in the first half of 2008.

The TV ad aims to get viewers to “imagine the pressure when the hopes and wishes of an entire nation are on one’s shoulders”.
