The latest buzz is that Sony Pictures who hold the original rights of the movie Stepmom has offered Karan Johar to co-produce the movie. According to the earlier reports, Karan Johar had bought the rights of the critically acclaimed film starring Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts and planned to start working for the Indian version of it once he is done with My Name is Khan. Stepmom tells the story of a divorced couple (Sarandon and Ed Harris) trying to keep their children happy after their separation.
But now with Sony co-producing the movie with Karan Johar means KJo wont have to pay a hefty amount to buy the original rights as Sony Pictures hold the rights of this original Hollywood cult classic.
Another twist in the tale, the Hindi version was supposed to be shot in Australia. But due to complicated socio-political conflicts the producers have decided against shooting in Australia. B town filmmakers recently in unison have voiced their strong reactions against the attacks on Indian students. Mid Day report here.
Mumbai has been considered as the alternative place for the movie. Well, I am not saying Switzerland (It’s still hard to believe that all of Switzerland’s visual resource have been captured under Bollywood lenses, there still are unexplored beautiful places, may be not as famous as routine Alps and clichéd streets amidst huts and greens mostly seen in Yash Chopra flicks, may be we need a fresh cinematographer to astonish us with his/her findings), what I am saying when so many countries like Ireland, Fiji, Hungary, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Turkey, Austria, Cuba, are wooing Bollywood, why Mumbai. I mean a Sony-Karan Johar joint production deserves more. Isnt it guys?

What a sound byte, Mr. Nanda, were you on drugs when you spoke all these intellectual stuff. By the way, do you know what Jhumpa Lahiri’s profession is? Why she is famous?
Are you sure Jhumpa Lahiri is a dumb in conversation? I mean, you are sure that she cannot match up to your sophisticated sense of humor and intellectual intelligence? After all by profession you polish aged Bollywood superstar’s (khans, kumars) facial skin on movie posters. And she is Pulitzer winning best seller writer…don’t you find any contradiction mr, nanda…like the sophisticated bollywood characters you paint on posters?

Well, anyone can have good eyes and lips….i know what you mean….but its not because of her eyes only (forget lips…why are you after her lips I don’t understand…its about her eyes dumbo)…she is an acclaimed writer first (and she writes in english…haha…I mean proper English unlike me and Chetan Bhagat…I wish you realize someday.) and because she is famous and acclaimed and respected she is considered….

Hahaha…that’s another masterpiece…Jhumpa was born in 1967 says wikipedia…she is 41 now….20 years ago she would be 20…agreed she would not look like a 20 year old when she is 40…but does not depth and mystery (and hypnotism) embedded eyes remain more or less same between 20 to 40. I know people put eyelash and all….but I do not remember I saw her wearing any ever…
Its not about being physically hot mr nanda….like your hindi film posters… its about eyes….i think u have become so much one-dimensional after painting so many bollywood posters over the years that you don’t give any special importance to eyes like the rest of ispeshaal body parts…

Poor Subhash Ghai will not be able to get a Diwali release for ‘Yuvraaj’ as the movie will not be over with its post production works. SRK’s Billo Barber however is confirmed for a gala Oct 24 Diwali release.It seemed a cakewalk for SRK because no major release was slated for Diwali other than Yuvraj.
However, Warner Bros and Rohan Sippy, producers of the Chandni Chowk To China (CCTC) have decided to prepone the release of the movie by a week. Instead of October 29, CCTC will be releasing on October 24.
