Advertising definition, term, meaning, information. What is Ad Network?

Ad Network: An advertising network or ad network is an entity that connects advertisers to the publishers to host their advertisements. Like a 3rd party agent or broker it consults, acts as mediator between marketers and publishers and allow advertising buyers to reach broad audiences relatively easily through run-of-category and run-of-network buys.

Broadly there are 3 types of advertising networks

Above The Fold

Above The Fold – The screen real estate of a web page visible without the viewer having to use the vertical scroll bar. For advertisers, this space costs more since it is more likely to be viewed by the visitor. The term is a carry over from the print medium where it means the top half of the newspaper front page. So that, content/design from that part of can be visible when the newspaper is folded in half.
