CareerBuilder XLV Super Bowl 2011 Commercial: Chimpanzees Start Building Monkey Business

career-builder-ad-recruitment-portal

Career Builder: Maybe it’s time to move on

Chimpanzees are back with CareerBuilder’s 2011 Super Bowl commercial. The ad spot is scheduled during the third quarter of the game. A regular in the game, this is CareerBuilder’s 7th consecutive excursion. The ad is part of the integrated campaign from the human capital company.

I remember the chimpanzees first showed their face during the company’s Super Bowl debut in 2005. After a long five year pause, the chimpanzees are busy crating chaos at Yeknom Industries (monkey spelled backwards). From a business trip gone awry to an unorthodox fire safety meeting to a “car sandwich” in the company parking lot, the chimpanzees are all about monkey business.

The company has not hired ad agency and made them in-house. There are three ads of 30 seconds spotsnwhich will keep playing in TV channels after the event is over throughout the year. For the digital part, however, the job portal has hired an agency Oddcast, to introduce an e-mail service called Monk-e-mail.

Best Buy XLV Super Bowl 2011 Commercial: Justin Bieber and Ozzy Osbourne

Best Buy perfect fitting consumer durable adFirst ever super bowl commercial from Best Buy is here. This ad has zeroed into an unlikely pair of Bieber and Ozzy Osbourne. Slated for 6th February, Super Sunday, this first ever TV ad aims to revolutionize retailing. It would be an one minute spot and will appear in third quarter of the game.

That apart, the funny thing is singer-songwriter-occasional-actor Ozzy Osbourne only recently has admitted that he never has heard of teen heart throb Justin Bieber. Gen gap and all that.

Brand success continues

Best part of Best Buy branding is that they always evolve with time. Things have changed and competition is fierce, consumers are way less loyal now, however, they are becoming more savvy than ever. What with Amazons of the world disrupting the the essence of retail marketing, it’s more than imperative for the brick and mortar model to embrace the changing dynamics. While many of its contemporaries have gone into oblivion (most noted among them are Crazy Eddie, Circuit City, CompUSA, J&R Music), this Minnesota based retail giant not only able to stay in the game, but also due to its agility and execution, I would say is on the top of the game. Super Bowl is part of the strategy.

Notwithstanding sweeping Super Bowl campaigns, it has done some wonderful in-retail branding execution in the form of brand boutiques which is inspired from Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s branding handbooks.

BMW Super Bowl XLV 2011 Commercial: The X3 Matchup

BMW the ultimate driving machine

BMW X3 print advertisement

BMW is back on Super Bowl area after ten years of interval. There are two reasons behind this. Firstly, by not participating in the biggest advertising jamboree of the world have its own shortcomings. Even in a recession year, in 2010, Hyundai and Audi advertised and benefited. Secondly, and most importantly, more than 60% of BMW’s inventory in the U.S. will be new vehicles next year.

In an interview with Adage, Stacy Morris, marketing communications manager at the car company said, “We’re in the window of our biggest launch period in history and the Super Bowl gives us the stage to make that big impact.” From last year’s $138 million media spent in the US, it looks at a much larger figure in the rejuvenated market space, having spent $83 million in the first six months alone.

Bud Light Super Bowl XLV 2011 commercial: Here we go

Along with Super Sunday Super Bowl debutant for 2011, Stella Artois and regular buddy, Budweiser, Bud Light will show its face thrice at the XLV version of the game. All three Bud Light spots are of 30 seconds and will maintain its “Here We Go” campaign it has begun last year. Bud Light facing losing market share is looking for some fresh ideas to pump up sales this season. Anheuser-Busch is in addition to its existing partner Omnicom Group’s DDB is seeking advice from a new advertising agency Anomaly for out of the box ideas.

Bud’s last year campaign “It’s What We Do” did not spice up sales. The commercial plays off the beer’s long-running presence in the American psyche.

One spot flashes back to once-trendy greetings such as fist bumps and chest bumps, and reminds viewers that “one greeting stands the test of time, with a beer that starts with full flavor and ends with a crisp, clean finish.”

Budweiser Super Bowl 2011 commercial- Clydesdales are back

Budweiser’s association with the Clydesdales does not need any forced recall. In 2010, Anheuser-Busch dropped them after a last minute consumer poll. This year, however, they are back with a special focus. The Clydesdales, first appeared in a 1986 Super Bowl commercial and have appeared in a dozen ads since then. This year again the tradition comes alive with a commercial called, “Wild West” which will be handled by Independent Anomaly. The ad will feature Peter Stormare as a “thirsty gunslinger with an itchy trigger-finger.”
