Simple and basic, that’s what you can call this Kabul Bank advertisement. Well, we can not really expect a heavy duty ad from Afghanistan, at least in this turbulent time. The ad features Farhad Darya, supposedly a well known singer and social activist, as brand ambassador.
Kabul bank is the largest commercial bank in Afghanistan. Having started operations on 27 June 2004, the bank has become the market leader in terms of business volume, number of branches, customer base, employees etc. It is the most preferred bank by the people of Afghanistan. Sher Khan Farnood is the Chairman of the bank. The bank is managed by senior bankers from Pakistan and India. Kabul Bank, like all other banks operating in the country, is under the supervision of Da Afghanistan Bank, which is the central bank of Afghanistan.

The agency has created this ad for itself. Savaglio\TBWA’s Buenos Aires (Argentina) division has made the ad.
To me the ad kind of suspends your disbelief. It says “If you are looking for an inspiration, look outside advertising.” And look, its coming from one of the world’s best advertising agencies. The advice is good. Don’t hire any agency or Savaglio\TBWA. Lol.
MY friend asks me “where is the rest of the ad?”

This Volkswagen passat TV ad sums it up proudly, “one thing you can be sure of…Passat.” I kind of found it strange to see ‘Butcher’ mini truck and stereotyped sheep’s looking at the protagonist’s car in the tunnel. Animal lovers may not love the visual, animals in lorries going to be slaughtered. What’s so funny in it. To make a joke of these helpless animals may not go well with lot of people.
The guy’s happy; happily he is littering (.04 - 0.16) , share market tumble etc etc bla bla can not deter him. The ad would certainly make people laugh. The track is one of my favourite songs, look out for the original as sung my Morecambe and Wise. The song has such a good message and is always a good tonic for anyone when he is down.
